With a flight time of 6:35am on a Saturday morning, I opted to drive myself to the airport and pre – book Meet and Greet Plus parking through the airport itself to arrive fabulous!  It was easily signposted and as part of the deal I was given six fast track security passes…Result Your car actually resides at the airport, and once dropping it off, you have a two minute walk directly into Departures.

I met the rest of the girls here, where some of us checked in baggage and off we went through security ( fast tracked of course!) My first time flying from Stansted but quickly observed all food places were very busy with people all catching the first flights of the day. We opted for breakfast at Leon before walking to our gate and boarding seamlessly.

Once we landed, we went through passport control, grabbed our bags and our transfer company, Sun Transfers, picked us up. The driver popped in his Beyonce CD on and after 15 minutes we arrived at our hotel, Amathus Beach Hotel

We checked in with the lovely Tamara who explained that our rooms would be ready in half an hour, so we stored our bags and she gave us a tour of the grounds. She also mentioned €15 euros would get unlimited drinks ( soft and alcohol) for each day, so we all opted to do that over the 3 days… No judgement!

Once in our rooms, we unpacked and headed straight to the buffet to enjoy some food / drinks and take some very important arrival pictures ( Selfies). The hotel pool had some stunning views, but I’d love to see the rooms get an interior improvement to  bring it into line with the rest of the hotel. I did see they had Elite Suites on – site, but didn’t get to view any of those.

That evening we were picked up by Manos Going who took us to Louis Restaurant in Rhodes Town at 9pm. Both the food and service was impeccable! With Complimentary dessert, we were a very happy bunch!

As it was Easter from midnight onwards, we arranged a pick up just before to avoid gridlock in Rhodes town.

The next morning we had pre booked a half day tour with Rhodes Taxi Tours company. The tour has to be done in cars as due to a number of narrow roads, so we split into three taxi’s.

2016-05-01 09.44.44Our driver was Nikolas, who was hilarious and very hospitable with a lush Mercedes, we were comfortably chauffeured around all day. We learnt lots about the history of this amazing island, including St Paul’s Bay in Lindos and looked at some of the Ancient Greek landmarks culminating in visiting Rhodes Square for some shopping.

I picked up some honey and spices and we then asked if we could extend our time with them to visit an authentic restaurant. They picked a place called Panorama Taverna in Tsampika run by a family. We were greeted with open arms… literally! …We had an amazing meal, followed by more free dessert and a shot of ouzo! Might be a good time to share with you, the Greek word for cheers is “Yammas!” … We had both a beautiful meal and experience overlooking Tsampika’s beach.

We left that stunning view but before being dropped back to the hotel, Nikolas introduced us to his lovely wife, Maria ( who we booked our tour with) and they gifted us a bottle each of olive oil straight from their Family Olive Oil trees on their land. … as we’d forgotten some in the Market.Completely Humbled! .. My mum will be over the moon with her authentic olive oil! If ever anyone I know heads to Rhodes, I will strongly recommend these guys as they went above and beyond and made our day much more enjoyable.

From there we headed back to the hotel and chilled by the pool for the afternoon, taking full advantage of those unlimited drinks! and in the evening headed to Kontiki restaurant, courtesy of Manos and his lovely wife. Kontiki is a floating restaurant which has recently just opened up after being closed for ten years. The restaurant has actually been trading for decades.

After Kontiki, we headed to the owner’s club, Colorado, where we danced the night away until the wee hours.

On Monday, it was our Hen ( Bachelorette’s) Birthday, after breakfast in the hotel, we headed to Anesis Spa for some well deserved treatments. Sandra, the manager, had been fantastic in arranging all of our treatments. I opted for a Anesis Relax which was a Salt Body Glow, followed by a Thala Relax and then a massage. I left not only relaxed but with skin as soft as a baby! All her staff are trained at an academy and are brilliant at what they do. Sandra kindly arranged a cake for the birthday girl and her stuff were absolutely lovely in presenting in to us. I can strongly recommend this place for their level of professionalism.

That evening we had our final dinner in Jason Inn, a short walk from the hotel and then some finished our evening at a shisha bar for our final cocktails before heading back to the hotel to pack and sleep. We checked out at 10am and the Sun Transfers picked us up and dropped us back to the airport.
